Projects delivered by Alan Caldwell Associates

British Council – Challenge Europe Conference

The UK leg of this exciting initiative will bring 50 young climate challenge advocates to Comrie from across Europe for a four-day conference event.

The British Council run a programme called ‘Challenge Europe’.  This three-year campaign aspires to make a definite and lasting impact on the climate change debate.  It brings together young (under 30) people from across Europe to contribute their ideas and energy towards a low carbon future.

The theme for this Comrie Conference will be awareness raising and education.  Teams of the young advocates from across Europe will come together to share progress on their particular projects and be inspired and challenged by each other, invited guests and the local Comrie community.

Comrie has been successful in attracting this year’s UK event to the village through the work of the Comrie Development Trust, a national exemplar project for the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund (see www.comriefoundation.org)

Alan Caldwell has been appointed by the British Council to act as a local administrator for the event.

At the end of May 2010 the British Council Challenge Europe Conference returned to Comrie.  So taken with the delights of the village, the facilities at Comrie Croft and the learning opportunities through Comrie Development Trust the British Council brouight 40 new delegates from across Europe for this years conference.  Alan administered the event and delivered two days training around behaviour change to build low carbon communities.
